I was very moved by today’s Ten Minutes of Torah post–not only by the content, but by the quality of the writing. I cannot find your email address anywhere (I’d hoped to find it on the Judea Reform website) so I’m writing here. I was just in Raleigh–checking out a place to retire–but have now returned to Pennsylvania. (John Friedman is a classmate.)
Your blog post about the sukkah troubles me. Are you OK? (10.30.14)

Don’t know whether you remember me or not. Met you in Phoenix when you and Howard Tabaknek did a concert. Anyway, I am now retired and living in an independent living facility in Phoenix. I do a weekly “taste of Shabbat” service for the JFCS Senior Center as well as a Friday evening service 1x/mo at another nearby community. Was so impressed with your 10 Min of Torah that I used it for both groups. At the full service this past Shabbat I read them your entire post and they hung on every word. When I finished reading I saw several people wiping their eyes and all of them were smiling. You have a whole bunch of new friends here!
Wanted to say hello and thank you for a truly beautiful essay. All best wishes to you and your family. Would love to hear from you.
